Jo lewis

Jo is an award-winning writer, director and producer working across film, television and documentary. Her feature documentary OWEN is currently in late post-production, having been selected for First Look USA and supported by Telefilm Canada and Ontario Creates. Her writing and development work includes feature film ECHOLALIC, supported by the BFI, on which she was Executive Producer, produced by Erebus Pictures (Hoard, Bonus Track). She wrote and directed #SUGARWATER, documenting Graeae’s landmark National Theatre production, and produced the BFI-developed and funded animated short film GARDENING. Jo is currently writing her debut feature THE HERRING RUN and producing Norwegian co-production SENT TO KILL, directed by Ronnie Mackintosh. Alongside her independent work, Jo has extensive television and documentary production experience, having worked with Talkback, Endemol, IWC, ITV, BBC and Discovery Channel. Her credits include films by Mike Leigh, Anthony Minghella and Ridley Scott, and Andrea Arnold’s Oscar-winning short WASP. She runs Hipster Films, was a 2021 Directors UK Inspire Mentee, and is a voting member of BIFA.
