2023 sees Amy return as lead director on BAFTA nominated teen Sci-fi drama SILVERPOINT (Zodiak/BBC), having directed the closing five episodes on Season 1, followed by HOPE STREET. Since being chosen for the BBC Drama Director scheme in 2018, Amy has directed 10 episodes of DOCTORS for BBC1 and 14 episodes of HOLLYOAKS for Lime / Channel 4. She has also directed 2nd unit on Netflix comedy drama FEEL GOOD, and ITV comedy drama RALPH & KATIE. She is developing several features, ranging from a stylish, intimate biopic of Vivien Leigh to a terrifying Supernatural Horror/Thriller set the Blackwater Estuary. She has recently written-to-direct a darkly comic LGBTQ+ positive YA Fantasy series which is in development. Her BFI / Creative England funded short THE TREEHOUSE (2014) played at over 40 International Festivals, winning 13 awards, and her most recent short ANNABEL LEE, a gothic love story based on the poem by Edgar Allen Poe has won 15 awards. Previous shorts include the Award-winning ‘Epitaph’, ‘A Little Bit Country’, ‘Boy Soldiers’ and ‘The Fairweather Girl’. Amy recently collaborated on MARS, a BIFA nominated short film about trans/nb/gnc teenagers with Yungblud and Mercury Studios; is developing feature SPRING TIDE with Attagirl International Talent Lab and being mentored by Francesca Gardiner through BAFTA. Amy has more than 20 years’ experience as an Assistant Director on Features and HETV, most recently on ‘Ralph & Katie’ / ITV, ‘The Kitchen’ / Netflix, ‘Feel Good’ / Netflix, ‘You Don’t Know Me’ for BBC/Netflix, ‘Pennyworth’ / WBTV.
